Hosta Consulting placement

Day 24,

We met at the office as today was a on site day. Planting the show garden for the Trent Basin development. The team gathered all the gear and jumped in cars.

Got there and the front patio hadn’t been finished so we could only plant the back. I walked in and the change from when we took over the project was amazing. It looked like a garden! Not just a few plants, dead grass and a lot of gravel.

We laid out plants for the last border and started mulching the already planted borders, whilst we waited on the tools car to arrive.  Planting began, trying to take care not to get excess soil on the gravel and the ex  building site soil underneath the topsoil made it slow progress but we got there.

Perfect timing for the plant delivery to arrive. Unloaded some beautiful plants for the containers to be placed on the front patio once the paving is complete. The Bench also arrived and was put together, giving us a lovely place for lunch.

Some changes were made to the plants laid our for the last border, designers eye final touches and all, and then planting began again. This soil was a lot better but the haunches for the path encroached about 5 inches into the bed which was a shame.

Decided on single digging the bed over with the spade initially as we worried the trowels weren’t deep enough. The final border was planted and after a little alteration the some of the other plants, a quick sweep and tidy, we were done.

Really good day planting, we achieved a lot and the look of the garden now is amazing.
